Founded in 2014 under the name of Dome Pictures Limited in the UK by two Spanish film enthusiasts, the company quickly shifted from an outsourcing company for the film industry to a full production powerhouse.
In 2016 due to several external reasons the company in London was merged with US startup Water Mill Studios to create the Paper Plane Group based in New York City in the US.
After two years of preparation, the first production entered pre-production and completed the first episode in late 2019. In 2019 the group announced the production of 3 documentaries, a comedy show, and a sitcom.
Following the incorporation of members on the team, Paper Plane started producing its first film in March 2020. The company currently employs 10 full-time employees and 50 project-based collaborators. Paper Plane's content reaches more than 250 million people around the world
